April Manga Recommendations

I've been reading a couple of manga recently that are worth reading. They are not as well known to the general public, but they do have a bit of their own charm. I haven't read manga in quite a while because I have chosen anime and schoolwork to occupy my time. Manga may not have sound and movement like an animation, but imagery is a powerful tool to tell a story. Every mangaka has their own way of designing. For instance, "Bleach" uses a lot of large panels and I don't think it has a lot of small panels on a single page. Kubo Tite deliberately stated that he doesn't draw in backgrounds because that was how he envisioned the scenes; to appear in empty space. As opposed to "Naruto" which often times includes splash pages of detailed backgrounds and scenery because setting is very important to the story. We also see that manga doesn't always have to drawn in squares. Panels can be rectangular or in a variety of shapes. They can bleed off the page and objects do not necessarily have to contained within a panel. People belittle comics and graphic novels dismissing it as childish art or art that is not art, but they don't realize how much work goes into a page. It isn't simply the skill of an artist to render scenes. The artist has to be a good designer knowing how to place items on a page and make decisions on how it should be presented. Otherwise no matter how good you can draw, your work may end up unreadable.
