[Food Review] Hanok

I met up with some friends for a quick dinner. With no real aim of where to eat, we decided to visit Food Gallery 32. Despite having many choices, my dilemma each time is picking which stand to purchase from. In the end, I always end up buying from Hanok as they always delivered authentic Korean fare. The stands that I previously saw had disappeared and some had revamped themselves into something entirely different.

At Hanok, I ordered something called dduck guk. I had the choice of putting mandu in it, but I didn't which I regret so much because it wouldn't have added a lot to the original cost anyways. It's basically a rice cake soup. The broth may look plain, but it's really tasty. The pure beef broth had been braising in that kitchen for the entire day. Kimchi and takuan was served on the side as well as a bowl of rice.

For $10, you get mostly rice cake and a few pieces of thinly sliced beef. The egg and scallion that you see is really just for garnish and not much to eat. Damn. I really should have gotten that mandu. I regret so much even after a month. My friends and I had a long talk about our jobs. Mostly complaints, but there are some highlights to our days. We went to Tour Le Jours afterwards. I didn't buy a single thing because everything is pricey as hell compared to the bakeries I buy from. I couldn't help, but say goddamn. However everything looks extremely presentable and appetizing. This can easily be a gift for a host at someone's house.
