I lost interest in a lot of anime titles and a couple of them I decided to drop entirely because their storyline is hardly progressing. Such titles are "Jigoku Shoujo" and "Suisei no Gargantia". "Jigoku Shoujo" is very repetitive and hardly suspenseful for me. I cannot fathom how they concocted a second and third season. Despite the fluid animation in "Suisei no Gargantia", I have no motivation to continue the story. The genre is not my favorite genre and I'm not into this type of adventure story. The same goes for "Tactics". I was hoping for a refreshing supernatural exorcist anime, but "Tactics" is all about solving light mysteries while trying to uncover an important secret. I prefer more darker mysteries and the important secret regarding Haruka is not of interest to me anymore. There's a lot of unnecessary dialogue and unfunny humor.
HunterXHunter as of episode 121
A lot of narration going on to explain things and a lot of inner monologue for characters. I suppose the manga was originally written with a lot of narration and monologue. Many events are occurring simultaneously in the palace and I like how the art direction cuts to the different scenes. I grew to like Ikalgo a lot, he's probably the best octopus character I've ever seen. He can adapt to situations very quickly like how he trapped Brovada, but his inability to shoot Brovada was a good indication of humanity in his Ant self. I was hoping to see Ikalgo snipe and Brovada open fire at each other since they weird guns as weaponry. Killua's Kanmuru or Godspeed as they translate was very cool to see. I could see him beat Youpi if Killua was able to maintain his Kanmuru longer and seeing Youpi transform into a stronger being was truly frightening. I thought Morel was not going to be spared by Youpi and Knuckle's deactivation of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy was really disheartening to watch. There is seriously a lot of drama going on in the recent episode.
Tokyo Ravens as of episode 14
Things have certainly gotten more interesting than before which makes me happy. They finally brought out the Big Bad Ashiya Douman and Ootomo Jin shows his awesome skills. That was pretty badass to watch as Ootomo was cunning to begin with and incredibly skilled because of his profession. Harutora and gang haven't changed much and it doesn't add much sparks. It is clear that the gang will stick together through thick and thin and very obvious that Harutora and Natsume will have some sort of budding romance. I'm not a fan of the romance frankly, I find it annoying. Kon is just a cutesy mascot so far, but spoilers on the web tell me otherwise so I will wait for that. I'm also waiting for other antagonists to appear and make their move. I forgot one of the guy's name and he's definitely working as a double agent. The overall plot has gotten more suspenseful because there are more secrets to be revealed like the Twin Horn Syndicate and origins of Tsuchimikado Yakou. This Yakou guy is a shady fellow.
Toriko as of episode 141
The anime series is going on hiatus after next week I think. It's been a long journey and somehow I managed to come close to completing it. I never even completed the Bleach series. Toriko is an anime written for young kids while the manga is written for an older audience. Since the anime had toned down a lot of instances, I think it lost a lot of charm for an older audience like me. The animation had gotten considerably bad as the series progressed because scenes were not drawn consistently and were animated poorly. The use of flashy and simple effects only made the show more suited for younger kids. Story wise, it's just overall very simple and it got more simpler towards the end with a lot of fighting and friendship. I can't stand Komatsu anymore because of his portrayal as a very helpless character. I skipped through a lot scenes and watched only the "important" dialogue. I will see Toriko until the end. PS Starjun's hair is wild and crazy.
