First Concert Coming Up, Good Anime to Watch, Sweetest Fruit Ever

I am excited to announce that I will be going to X-Japan's concert at Madison Square Garden on October 11. It'll be my first concert and a dream come true. Many years ago I had the dream of seeing or meeting Gackt in person, but he never held a concert on the East Coast and I eventually lost interest. Now it'll be X-Japan I'll be seeing. Really it was Yoshiki and Sugizo that got me interested in X-Japan and learning more about the band made me realize how influential they are in the music industry. For them to perform in Madison Square Garden is just great. It's a historic venue right here in New York and I can travel there conveniently. Since they practically showed up right at my doorstep, it would be extremely foolish of me to not attend their concert.
Being the person I am, it was a struggle for me to ask people to come to a concert with me.

1. They did not like X-Japan.
2. They have not heard of X-Japan.
3. They are not interested in X-Japan.

I decided to go alone even if it's my first concert. There's a lot of people to meet and make friends with from out of state, locally, and even from other countries. Fans connect best with the bands and artists they love. I am hoping that the entire venue is filled with people. If there are some gaps, maybe they can upgrade some of us to better seats. I'm just too damn excited to see X-Japan and I would really love to see them up close.

The summer selection of anime has been very favorable. I enjoyed a wide selection of new shows. A lot of people started watching Tokyo Ghoul due to the hype and there were some mixed responses. I actually wanted to read Tokyo Ghoul a couple of months ago, but didn't find any English scanlations of it. Part of it was because I didn't know what it would be called in English. When the anime was announced, I was excited. I was a little disappointed to see certain things censored and being a show about ghouls eating humans, it's gonna be gore. Aldnoah. Zero is also becoming my new favorite. I don't like mecha in general, but this is one has a compelling storyline to get into. Basically in Aldnoah. Zero, Earth is being attacked by Martians who are descendants of Old Humanity to claim the planet. There are some politics in between making it an intergalactic dispute, but a few humans on Earth namely some Japanese students decided to participate in defending the Earth. Nobunaga Concerto is a retelling of the Warring States period through the eyes of a young Oda Nobunaga except there's a catch. It's actually Saburo from current day Japan who travels back in time and switches places with the real Oda Nobunaga. Lastly I want to mention Zankyou no Terror otherwise known as Terror in Resonance. It tells of a Tokyo that gets hit by a terrorist attack by a group known as Sphinx. They are two young boys and so far we have no idea why they're doing this. American viewers can definitely feel something from this as it reminds us of the tragedy of 9/11. It hits really close to home and I definitely picked up references from various attacks around the world. It's also a compelling story to tell and follow.

Recently I came across one of the sweetest fruits tasted. The prickly pear also known as the cactus fruits grows on the nopal cactus. I already have a lot of spikes on my hand just from touching it. Most of the spikes have been removed when they are in the market. It's those little hairs that bother. They're small and look harmless. Once you carefully open up the fruit, you will find that it is juicy and incredibly sweet. The ones that I bought are red or a deep magenta. They have many seeds like a pomegranate or a dragonfruit and I swallow them anyway.
